I've always loved the Zombie Nation tune and 99% of all the Laidback Luke remixes are sick as f*ck. And so again is this remix. I do wish the LBL superstar would come with a new fresh sound because this machine makes soooo many tracks that right now I have 4 pages in my CD book with CDs of him (about 10 tracks per CD). and they all pretty much sound the same. They're all hit material so its not a matter of quality, I mean the man is a genius.. but a new fresh sound from the LBL would be welcomed by me personally. Nevertheless.. Sorry sorry sorry I humbly appologize that I've been not doing anything about this blog for little over a month. As a music artist its sometimes hard to find time to update my beloved blog due to traveling and performing. May that be my new years resolution; spending more decent time on updating this blog for all you cats.

Having that said, my personal love for New Era hats goes back quiet a bit in time. So you just have to check out these new ones with Rock Smith. I just purchased an Obama Rock(S Mith) Tee in a little shop in Chicago. The peeps in there weren't too friendly, while I was shopping the homeboy was on the phone the entire time! Maybe thats why I forgot the name of the store.

I did also get a pink hard cloth ALIFE New Era hat there too though.. Here's a pic of me wearing the hat, sitting and blackberry chatting while playing cus this party was DEAD.. BlackBerry saved my life!

Once in a while we will take some time and effort to introduce to you an artist. This time it's Tekitha we want to bring to your attention. Also for the fact she and Jaimie Fanatic are doing a single together with remixes by Junior Sanchez, Chuckie and Aston Shuffle. More on that very soon but first we introduce to you... TEKITHA

Tekitha is the female vocalist who appeared to take the role of Wu-Tang Clan in-house singer (previously filled by Blue Raspberry) for the album Wu-Tang Forever, on which she also performed a solo track titled "Second Coming". She also filled in for the unavailable Mary J. Blige in the video for Ghostface Killah's "All I Got Is You". Initially signed to RZA's Razor Sharp Records and then to Ghostface's Starks Enterprise, Tekitha continued to make guest appearances on Wu-Tang projects such as Raekwon's The Lex Diamonds Story and has also collaborated with the legendary KRS-One. While usually heard singing, her rapping can be heard on Cappadonna's "Pump Your Fist" and RZA's "Mantis".

Tekitha’s current project boasts production from The RZA, Stevie J, and Super Dave West. Whether she's slated for only background vocals or crafting her solo project, Tekitha has become an easily recognizable voice from the ranks of the extended Wu-Tang Family, charging to the future as the soulful, sultry Wisdom Body.

We are movies buffs for damn sho!! So you can imagine how excited we got when we saw the trailer of "THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL".. oooooooooh snap!! (thanks carlo for that).

In 1951 the first edition of this movie came out by director Robert Wise and cast Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal and Hugh Marlowe. In 2008 director Scott Derrickson brought this epic back to life with a new cast: Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connely, John Ham and John Cleese.

Check the trailer, cuz we've been blown away by it and are expecting it to be as hot as the Matrix Trilogy. We've been waiting for a mindblasting movie for a while now, because everything that came out recently just seems to be .... how to put it... TRASH!!! Every time we went to see a flick we expected to be hot, Max Payne.. piece of shit.. Eagle Eye.. mwa.. and the list goes on. BUT.. this time.. we have high hopes!!!

Who didn't love that whistling tune of PETER BJORN AND JOHN "THE YOUNGEST FOLKS"? We loved it so much we hated it.. or was it the other way around. That whistle, man didn't that just drive you NUTS. Another edition of our Retro Corner, this time with 80's M.A.R.R.S. - PUMP UP THE VOLUME. This track was released in 1987 and was written by M. Young.

Now I dont know how old you guys are, most of you kidz are pretty young but let me tell you. Old farts like ourselves have been blown away by 80s house music, it was revolutionary! Actually thanks to people like M.A.R.R.S. a lot of hip hop producers who loved sampling started doing house music with stacks of samples in them. As a sample addict myself I consider this stuff, this era, to be the start of where we are now, considering house music.

The legendary 17th century pirate known as One-Eyed Willie could not have seen this one coming! Somehow PUMA got their hands on Willie's buried treasure map, the exact same one that was used by those pesky kids from Astoria, Oregon in the 1985 film. They then applied it to one of their most iconic runners from the early '80s, the Disc Blaze and added a little pirate bling-ker-ching to keep it all tied together. Dropping in December, it's time to get your truffle-shuffle on and save yer gold coins to get your hands on this classy booty. Apparently distribution is limited... Aye, Aye me goonies!

We love music, we love fashion, we love models and we sure love movies!!! Recently seen ROCKNROLLA of Mr. Guy Ritchie who delivered us the amazing flicks "SNATCH" and "LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS". But what did we discover in this brilliant movie. Toby Kebbell plays junkie Johnny Quid!!!! For those who dont know Toby.. he played the manager in CONTROL by photography genius Anton Corbijn. A movie you have to add to your 'must see' list.

Toby apparently dropped out of school at the age of 15, did some crazy shitty jobs after that and at some point decided to become an actor...!! And what an amazing actor he became. So our praise for today.. "Keep your eyes on Toby Kebbell.. and go watch ROCKNROLLA!"

MALENTE SMS DIE TUREN

Malente, Germany based electro fidget genius needs no introduction, at least not to those who live and breath in the house industry. Malente is not only an amazing producer but also a very kind person. We invited him to spin with us in Holland a little while ago and without any hesitation he grabbed his private jet and within minutes he was rocking downtown Rotterdam. Just kidding, but u get the idea ;).

Just to show you how kinda Mr. Malente is: He's sharing a remix that is not on beatport (!) from his table with us. A german indierock band called "Die Turen" had him remix their single "Sei schlau, bleib dumm". Malente's remix was called "Malente's SMS mix". Now although I'm pretty much lost with the titel.. the track is sick. And YOU can download it here for FREE!

Fatboy Slim) -created collective, could be the "the greatest collective of pop music weaponry the world has ever seen" since the We Are The World gathering, and this video for "Seattle", the group's second single, should give you reason enough to make you believe it too. The song and its accompanying clip feature Emmy The Great, who should also be on your radar since she's quite excellent as a solo artist and you've probably heard her name being dropped all the time by Dev Hynes aka Lightspeed Champion. Keep both eyes peeled for more to be revealed from The BPA because every new day seems to bring something else out of their camp.

Diplo a.k.a. Mr. Mad Decent is to fidget what Bob Marley is to reggae music; initiator, godfather, and than some. The M.I.A. album he did with Switch was and is still ahead of its time. All his remixes have been a major inspiration to all fidget spin-offs. Him and Disco D were the first one ever to cross over b-more and brazilian drums to house music. He therefore has been of major importance to the current dance industry.
